Dr. Edwards' consulting
service has a clear mission- leadership
development for individuals and organizations. Dr. Edwards provides
on-going, on-the-job leadership development to business so that
leaders with character, knowledge and skills can meet the challenges
of the workplace and of their personal lives.
The consulting service
began through individual counseling with leaders seeking to gain new
competencies, to manage the stresses of work, to rise above personal
issues or to transition to a new career position. This service
includes the professional development of CEO's, CFO's, and key
leaders from a variety of fields and companies such as Texas
Instruments, IBM, Perot Systems, EDS, 3M and JC Penney as well as
lawyers, architects, engineers, MBA's and family-owned businesses.
Dr. Edwards is dedicated to the personal and professional
development of your organization's key contributors. He is uniquely
trained to assess, plan and implement behavioral change for
individuals and groups. As a consulting psychologist, he has years
of advanced training in research-based methods of assessing
leadership acumen and shaping human behavior. He aligns the goals of
the organization with the key contributors in a way that is
beneficial for the growth of the organization and the individual.
The result is a leadership team that performs even better and
receives greater satisfaction from their work.
...developing talent is business's most
important task. ...today's knowledge workers are not just labor-
they are capital. And what differentiates outstanding companies is
the productivity of their capital. Peter Drucker, Harvard Business Journal

Dr. Edwards begins by
understanding and analyzing the organization's need, assessing key
individuals, and considering the specific context in which they
work. He uses the best instruments available so that you can have
confidence that the data is reliable and valid. These include
on-line assessment, structured interviewing, 360° feedback, and
decades of clinical savvy to understand a situation.
Next, he conducts in-depth, confidential de-briefing so that
individuals and the organization understand the assessment findings.
Then, all involved can make informed decisions about their next
course of action. Sometimes, his work ends here.
More often, Dr. Edwards partners with leaders and the organization
to create a plan of action. Plans are based on the latest,
empirically-based information available on how behavior changes. He
will guide the individuals through the change process and set up a
process for evaluating the effectiveness of the developmental
program. The result is a leadership team that performs even better
and receives greater satisfaction from their work.
When problems with leadership arise, Dr. Edwards helps the
organization and the individuals chart a better course. Since
inadequate or misguided leadership consumes vast amounts of an
organization's time, energy and financial resources, solving
personnel problems in a timely fashion keeps business on track.
For over 20 years, Dr. Edwards has worked in the selection and
development of leadership. His own career began with fifteen years
in non-profit work. He then transitioned into psychological services
as he directed a community-based counseling center for seven years
before entering private practice as a psychologist and consultant.
His experience in psychological assessment is invaluable in creating
accurate, fact-based developmental plans with his clients.
Dr. Edwards earned his BA and PhD from the University of Texas at
Austin. He is a widely known speaker on personal and professional
development and other leadership topics. |
