Most of the people who come to Dr. Edwards' clinical practice are in
some measure of pain or discomfort. They want to feel better or
resolve a difficult situation. Therapy really does work. It provides
a safe and confidential place to take a look at one's life, figure
out what needs to change and then implement that change.
Therapy requires courage. It involves examining one's life and
assuming responsibility for it. Therapy takes time. Our problems
often come from long-standing patterns of thinking and acting. These
habits do not change easily or quickly, but they can and do change.
Dr. Edwards and his clients work together to understand what is
happening in the client's life and to change patterns of thinking
and acting. Dr. Edwards emphasizes active participation by the
client. The therapy is goal oriented and problem focused. It seeks
to teach the client to be his or her own therapist. The result is
enduring emotional and behavioral change. Clients feel better, worry
less, and cope with stress better.
